Baltimore, MD –September 17, 2009 – ARCWheeler, owner of the historic B&O Building, home to new Kimpton Hotel Monaco, will celebrate the official Grand Opening of Baltimore's first luxury boutique hotel on October 1, 2009. The event will feature remarks by Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon and other key civic, community and business leaders, followed by the official railroad tie “spike drive,” that will mark the Hotel's official introduction to the City. The $65M, 202-room Hotel Monaco Baltimore and adjacent B&O Brasserie restaurant have been extremely well received by local residents and business travelers alike since it began accepting guests on July 30.
“The reception the hotel has received so far has been astounding,” said Hal Wheeler, managing principal, ARCWheeler. “The development of the historic B&O Building and opening of the Hotel Monaco Baltimore opens a new chapter of exciting economic development, tourism and marketing opportunities for the City of Baltimore. We are excited for the Hotel's continued success and look forward to being an active member of the Baltimore business community.”
