Jessica Sharp is a strategic communications expert who has built her career helping organizations navigate change, clarify their messaging, and manage high-stakes situations. As Principal of Maven Communications, she partners with leadership teams to align communications strategies with broader organizational objectives, delivering measurable results in even the most challenging environments.
With nearly two decades of experience in crisis management and issues navigation, Jessica has become a trusted mentor to executives and board members across sectors, with particular depth in the nonprofit and professional services spaces. She has developed dozens of comprehensive communications strategies for organizations facing transition and uncertainty, helping leaders articulate their vision and maintain stakeholder confidence during periods of significant change.
Jessica’s approach combines strategic foresight with practical implementation. She excels at identifying positioning opportunities that distinguish organizations in crowded marketplaces and crafting narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Her expertise extends to preparing leadership teams for high-stakes communications, from media training spokespersons to developing crisis response protocols that protect organizational reputation and mission integrity.
Throughout her career, Jessica has demonstrated unwavering commitment to nonprofit leadership and governance. She currently serves as Chair Elect on the Board of Directors of Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, is a Board member and Executive Committee member of The Forum of Executive Women and serves on the Advisory Board for the College of Arts and Sciences at Drexel University. Previously, she served on the Boards of the Gift of Life Howie’s House, Bala House Montessori School, Philadelphia Bar Association, and the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. She is also a former President of the Legal Marketing Association, Metro Philadelphia Chapter.
Jessica’s contributions to the field have been recognized with the 2019 Young Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. She shares her expertise as an adjunct professor of public relations at St. Joseph’s University and holds a Master of Arts in Communication Management from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications from Drexel University.
