Account Executive
Maven Communications, an established and well-respected women-owned communications agency located in Center City Philadelphia, is currently seeking an Account Executive to join our team of communication professionals. Maven provides high impact public relations and integrated communications services to our client roster of B-to-B and B-to-C companies across a variety of industries including real estate, healthcare, nonprofit, and professional services.
Job Title: Account Executive
Reports To: Senior Account Executive / Practice Area Leader
Summary: In this essential position, you provide support to the entire client account team. The ideal candidate is organized, bright, and excited to work in a small agency environment where you’ll have the opportunity to learn alongside seasoned PR practitioners.
The essential responsibilities of the Account Executive role are to:
- Assist senior account leads in developing and implementing PR campaigns for clients
- Write attention-grabbing media materials including press releases, media alerts and pitches
- Understand how larger trends can be applied to client objectives and ability to localize national news for client visibility and thought leadership opportunities
- Write blog posts, client correspondence, whitepapers, and all media materials
- Identify media opportunities for clients and pitch them for placement in targeted trade and consumer media
- Establish strong media relationships
- Establish strong client relationships
- Draft client call agendas and post-call recap reports
- Monitor news coverage and share with the agency team; create weekly coverage and trend overview reports for the client
- Manage all media coverage trackers weekly
- Produce research reports to support new business pitches
- Maintain multiple social media calendars with daily posts for multiple social channels
- Draft all social content:
- Read and understand legal decisions and legal media articles and summarize in social posts
- Summarize blog posts for social content
- Understand context of client news and translate into social content
- Weekly call with designer to discuss all social graphics
- Curate content for monthly newsletter; edit for readability; secure approvals
- Serve as point of contact for client marketing specialists specific to social content
- Manage tasks for multiple clients simultaneously
- Understand what success means to each client and how to deliver those results
- Add creative insight and problem-solving to all client accounts
The necessary requirements and skills needed include:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or related fields
- 2-5 years relevant agency experience, including internships
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Extremely strong writing and editing skills
- Very strong understanding of the local media market
- Enjoyment of working in an agency environment, including managing multiple client accounts, switching quickly between disparate topics and industries, and being a team player
- Creative, strategic thinker
- Very strong work ethic
- Very strong attention to detail
- Positive and energy and enthusiasm
