Background: As the nation’s leading pharmacy services provider for the hospice and palliative care community, Enclara Pharmacia empowers people to transform hospice care through collaboration, creativity, and compassion. Through a comprehensive network of retail and institutional pharmacies, a national patient-direct dispensing program and dedicated inpatient services, Enclara ensures timely and reliable medication access in any care setting. Combining clinical expertise, proprietary technology and a patient-focused, nurse-centric approach, Enclara enables hospices of all sizes and models to improve quality of life for individuals experiencing progressive illness.

Challenge: Given the specialized space, Enclara has a broad and diverse group of employees with deep institutional knowledge and expertise in pharmacological care, pharmacy benefit management and technology. In 2020, Enclara created a Speakers Bureau of seasoned professionals to provide insights and expertise on hospice and palliative care issues and trends, but did not have a mechanism for developing opportunities for members of the Bureau.

Strategy:  Maven was engaged to strategically position the Speakers Bureau members as thought leaders within the hospice and palliative care space. Tactics included hosting an internal roundtable with Speakers Bureau members to discuss trends, priorities, and potential topics of interest for the year, leveraging eBook and whitepaper content produced by Enclara that Bureau members could speak to, and securing opportunities for Bureau members to submit bylined articles in top tier trade outlets within the industry.

Results: Members of the Speakers Bureau have received national media coverage as expert resources providing commentary and insights on timely industry news and multiple byline articles have been placed in key industry publications. Maven and Enclara continue to work together to uncover new thought leadership opportunities for members of the Speakers Bureau.
