Launch of a New Kind of Dental Support Organization

The Challenge

In 2016 Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners emerged in the dental market as a unique dental support organization (DSO) that offers a new business model for dentists. Through a partnership with Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners, dentists are provided support services including billing, collections, scheduling, clinical data analysis, group purchasing, marketing, and recruiting, allowing dentists to focus on the care of their patients.

This specific model did not yet exist in the dental space. Maven was engaged to introduce this business model to the dental industry and to create an ongoing communications program to educate dentists on the benefits of the model and bring sustained visibility to Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners.

Strategy

Maven officially launched Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners into the dental space with a big media push that resulted in both feature and mention articles in nearly all dental trade publications, a profile piece on the firm’s CEO, and radio and podcast interviews with the firm’s CEO.

After the company was officially launched, Maven created an ongoing communications campaign that included regular announcements around new partnerships and acquisitions, and a thought leadership campaign for the company’s CEO that includes speaking at industry events and a regular program on Wharton Business Radio.

Result

Due in part to sustained visibly in the dental space, in the three years since its launch, Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners has annual revenues of more than $100 million and over 80 affiliates across the country.
