Bringing Awareness to the Region’s Largest Public Health Nonprofit

The Challenge

Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) is the Greater Philadelphia region’s largest nonprofit public health institute.  Although they are the largest, awareness of the nonprofit remained low. Through a multifaceted strategy to increase awareness of the agency’s breadth of services, programs, and community impact,  Maven has partnered with PHMC for nearly a decade to support the organization’s mission of creating and sustaining healthier communities.

The multifaceted communications campaign developed for PHMC draws upon the organization’s robust health data and statistics to showcase the success of the organizations 350+ programs, 70 locations, and family of affiliates. To highlight PHMC’s innovative operating model, Maven created a 365-day communications cycle that includes messaging, thought leadership, events, media coverage and digital content.

Results

Campaign highlights over the years include extensive media coverage around PHMC’s Community Health Database research; profile pieces on CEO, Richard Cohen; coordinating a Philadelphia Mayor’s forum on public health; a targeted awareness campaign to highlight the company’s headquarter move to a collaborative open space; numerous award submissions on behalf of individuals and the organization; multiple location grand openings; internal newsletter content creation and annual report writing.
