Cradles to Crayons Provides 300,000 Diapers to Families in Need

Cradles to Crayons and UPS partnered to provide 300,000 Huggies® diapers, donated by the National Diaper Bank Network’s (NDBN) founding sponsor, Kimberly-Clark, in support of National Diaper Need Awareness Week. Diapers will be donated to regional human service agency partners including domestic violence shelters, schools, foster homes, all to support local families in need.

The reason? One in three families in Pennsylvania struggle to provide clean diapers for their baby because it isn’t covered under personal assistance programs and it costs $70-$80 a month per child. A recent study by the NDBN and Huggies® found that parents who struggled with diaper need missed an average of four days of work a month. Without diapers, parents are unable to bring their baby to daycare and, as a result, many must make the difficult choice to quit work or school, often perpetuating the cycle of poverty. Cradles to Crayons works with the National Diaper Bank to eliminate diaper need in the Philadelphia region.
