Maven Communications Named 2019 Corporate Philanthropy Award Winner by The Philadelphia Inquirer

Maven Communications has been selected as a Philadelphia Inquirer 2019 Corporate Philanthropy Award Winner in the category of Most Charitable Award – In-Kind. The Corporate Philanthropy Awards recognize corporate and non-profit leaders for their generous gifts to the community.

The Maven Gives Back volunteer program was created based on the belief that every individual should have a role in making the Philadelphia community a place to learn, grow, and thrive. The program allows Maven employees to use as many work hours as they see fit to volunteer for various causes in the region.

On average, the Maven team contributes about 200 volunteer hours per year to organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region, Girls Inc., MANNA, Kennett Symphony, ArtWell, Gift of Life Family House and more.

Principals and Co-Founders, Rebecca Devine and Jessica Sharp- lead by example, sitting on several nonprofit boards each as well as volunteering many additional hours to nonprofits that they’re passionate about.

“By volunteering we not only give back, we build compassion and greater awareness, which helps us grow as both professionals and people,” said Rebecca Devine, who currently serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region and Roman Catholic High School.

“Being an active and engaged member of the community has always been important to us and I want everyone at Maven to have the same opportunity to give back to their own communities,” said Jessica Sharp, who currently serves on the board of Girls, Inc of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, the Gift of Life Family House, and Bala House Montessori School.

As a winner, Maven Communications was evaluated by expert panel judges based on dedication to corporate social responsibility in addition to overall change, innovation, and impact in the civic community. From the countless nominations, Maven was selected as part of 37 winners who will be honored at an awards ceremony, as well as profiled in a special section in the Sunday Inquirer.

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 26th, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, PA.
