Attorney Thought Leadership in Business Litigation
Leveraging key regulatory and litigation milestones to help Archer's attorneys stand out during high-saturation media events.
Background: Founded in 1928, Archer is a full-service law firm serving Fortune 100 clients, small to medium-sized businesses and individuals. The firm provides litigation and transactional services in nearly every area of law, including business counseling, labor & employment, real estate, health care, intellectual property, family and matrimonial, personal injury, public finance, tax, trusts and estates, bankruptcy, land use and environmental law.
Challenge: The FTC’s proposed rule to ban most noncompete employment agreements was a topic that Archer’s Business Litigation Group has a lot of expertise around. Unfortunately, so do many attorneys nationwide.
Strategy: In order to ensure that Archer’s attorneys were the ones tapped by media outlets to share their insights and expertise, Maven developed a comprehensive media strategy around the proposed rule with the goal of leverageing key regulatory and litigation milestones to highlight the firm’s expertise and position its attorneys as prominent thought leaders in their field.
Maven worked with the Archer team to preempt the news cycle by drafting written statements and approved firm messaging to be shared with reporters covering specific milestones in the regulatory and litigation processes. These materials, which prioritized client impact and forward-looking analysis, helped Archer’s experts stand out during high-saturation media events and were essential to securing sustained media interest throughout five rounds of proactive, event-driven outreach.
Results: During the time of greatest media coverage on the topic, Maven secured nine proactive media interviews, which resulted in 13 pieces of media coverage quoting Archer attorneys in high-value regional, national, and trade publications, including Axios, Bloomberg Law, Law360, the American City Business Journals and IAM.
