White and Williams LLP Embraces Community Relations

White and Williams, a firm that primarily does insurance defense work, engaged Maven to help raise awareness for the firm and its attorneys knowing that most legal wins cannot be publicly promoted. Maven worked with the firm to create a community relations campaign that told a larger story about the firm and attorneys, beyond just legal expertise.

The firm “adopted” a local elementary school in a low-income section of Philadelphia and Maven developed strategy to create year-round opportunities to bring awareness to the firm’s commitment. Beginning with a large kick-off media event at the school, Maven created opportunities throughout the year to share compelling human-interest stories that highlighted both the school and the law firm.

After the first successful year, the firm decided to expand the effort and adopt schools in each of the markets where the firm has an office. Maven too expanded the awareness campaign to the additional markets, finding unique angles for each community.

In 2015, the campaign was recognized with a Legal Marketing Association Your Honor Award for excellence in legal marketing community relations. The firm’s Adopt-a-School initiative continues to this day.
